Lana Del Rey may have let the release date for her next album slip, and for once it doesn't appear to be some sort of publicity stunt.
The pop crooner was dealing with a group of autograph-seekers when one asked for details regarding the previously announced Ultraviolence. Del Rey responded politely that it would be released on May 1, and then realizing what she had done, tried to throw some ambiguity into the mix.
"It's coming out May 1," she told the asker before realizing she was on video. "I think."
The release date hasn't been confirmed by Interscope Records.
Del Rey's last full-length, Born To Die, came out during 2012, so it's not as if fans have been waiting for a while. The performer herself has added to the hype however by taking part in projects such as the art film Tropico, as the debut of which she announced Ultraviolence. She also got some press during January for releasing "Once Upon A Dream," her version of the Sleeping Beauty classic that will be featured in Disney's new film Maleficent.
She was more forthright regarding her thoughts on the new album, which of course were good.
"It's so good that it made me forget about the last record. I'm in love with it. I have that romantic feeling about it."
