Earlier this month, Mobb Deep released their ESPN remix of "Survival of the Fittest" from their new EP and now fans can listen to the project in its entirety ahead of the previously announced album.
Released via Spotify, the EP features production handled chiefly by Havoc and Yung Fokus as the two MCs spit gritty bars. Take a listen here:
As noted by XXL, the New York duo is also gearing up for the release of the rumored album produced entirely by The Alchemist that is supposed to come out this year.
During an interview with The Huffington Post back in March, Prodigy confirmed that the record is coming out in "a few months, probably" and that the music is "coming out dope."
Although a rep for Mobb Deep has reportedly confirmed the album to XXL, there is no set release date.
Last year, the two MCs decided to reunite to give their fans The Infamous Mobb Deep. The double-disc album revisits and pays homage to their critically acclaimed breakthrough album.
Disc two of the album, The 1994 Infamous Sessions, features 14 unreleased cuts from the making of 1995's The Infamous. It also includes the original recordings of tracks like "Temperature's Rising."
XXL gave the album an "XL" rating with high marks for beats and lyrics.
Prior to that, their last release together was 2006′s Blood Money, which came out during a brief stint on 50 Cent's G-Unit label.
