HBO's series Girls is known for its soundtrack and so far has premiered new music from Beck, Miguel and Jenny Lewis. Now, Lily Allen has shared her exclusive song for the show, called "L8 CMMR."
Allen spoke with Rolling Stone and explained that he decision to put the song on the show was an easy one. "I think the show is brilliant, so it was more or less a no brainer for me," she told Rolling Stone. "Greg Kurstin, who produced and co-wrote this track with me, played a few of the new tracks for a friend of his who works on the show. Apparently [music supervisor Manish Raval] loved the songs, and later came back to Greg asking if he could include one of the tracks in an episode."
Clocking in at 3:26, "L8 CMMR" begins with a horn intro similar to House of Pain's "Jump Around" intro. Allen's vocals have an auto-tuned tinge over a bubbly, synth-heavy beat, as she exclaims that her man is no longer on the market. "You can't have him," she sings. "No way. He's taken ladies."
Allen is currently working on her untitled third album for which she's already previewed two tracks, "Hard Out Here" and "Air Balloon." Girls Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do is out February 11.
