Potential problems over at Young Money as New Orleans rapper Widner "Flow" Degruy is wanted in connection to a double murder in his hometown last week. Brothers Kendrick and Kendred Bishop were found shot dead in an SUV last week and video footage appears to show Degruy and another man running away from the scene. No motive has been released.
According to The Times-Picayune, police reported that Degruy and the other suspect "possibly" were running away from the scene, and then were caught on another security camera making a purchase at a convenience store.
Despite accusations from the police, Degruy had twice taken to Instagram to pay tribute to Kendrick Bishop, the older of the two brothers. According to The New Orleans Advocate, he was also an aspiring rapper, working under the name Muddy Cup Buddy. Still, no indications of a feud were able to be found, on social media at least.
It's a familiar situation for Degruy, unfortunately. The emcee was charged with attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery during 2013, and was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Oakland to be sent back to New Orleans. Those charges were dropped when the victim failed to show up for court.
Stay tuned for updates on this case as they come in.
"Flow" is one of many Young Money performers that doesn't get as much attention as the label's biggest signees, however he's made a number of appearances on mixtapes over the years, including the track "Inkredible" from Lil Wayne's Sorry 4 The Wait mixtape. He himself has released several mixtapes on the label.
