When T-Pain let it slip that R&B provocateur FKA Twigs and Twilight actor Robert Pattinson are, in fact, engaged one person was sort of left out of the equation: Twigs herself. How did she react? In a new Complex cover story, the "Two Weeks" singer revealed that she was relatively nonplussed.
Though hesitant to talk about her high profile relationship and love life, Twigs (real name: Tahliah Debrett Barnett) was reportedly saddened that T-Pain had revealed that she was betrothed to Pattinson, though in speaking she seemed to dismiss the incident in a "what can you do?" manner.
After initially saying "I'd rather not talk about it," eventually the R&B star opened up. "It's fine, I'm a pretty chill person, do you know what I mean?" Twigs said, dismissing the conversation. "If you can't touch it, it's not real."
The engagement news surprise isn't the only baggage that comes along with dating Pattinson, who grew to extraordinary levels of fame for his role as Edward Cullen in Twilight and subsequent relationship with his co-star Kristen Stewart. The actor/musician has a rabid base of fans who don't particularly care for his new fiancée. Thus, they've been hurling hateful and racist comments her way, which Twigs describes as "horrible."
Though once again, she dismisses all of the detractors in one fell swoop because she's happy. "But ultimately, I'm in an amazing relationship. So it doesn't matter," she said.
