Lil Wayne: Start a Fire
"Glory" in its full glory is only available to subscribers of the premium streaming service, though the first 30 seconds are available to everyone. With a dramatic, chorus-filled and finger snapping backing, "Glory" promises to blend Tunechi's sense of urgent rapping with gospel musicianship.
Lyrically, "Glory" featured Lil Wayne going in on the music industry, declaring right off the bat that this is that "sh*t they didn't want me on."
"This that sh*t they didn't want me on / I'm 'bout to act a badonkadonk, shamone, shamone / Don't need sugar, I need cream, I'm dark and strong / The garbage man puttin' on cologne around my room / I'm on, I'm on, this that shit they didn't want," Weezy raps in the available open bars.
Though not officially confirmed, it seems as though "Glory" will act as the lead single from Wayne's Free Weezy Album. He announced this, in a way, through the use of the #FWA tag on his Twitter.
Lil Wayne's new single debuting on Tidal is no coincidence - the rapper was named as another celebrity co-owner, joining the likes of Jay Z, Beyonce, Arcade Fire, Alicia Keys and more.
"TIDAL is a great way to share music directly with fans," Wayne said in a statement to Forbes. "I'm hyped for people to hear my latest track and can't wait to show fans love through a special TIDAL X."
