Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Suge Knight Named In Wrongful Death Lawsuit From Hit-And-Run

The defendants list for the Suge Knight trial has grown unexpectedly. Knight is continuing to battle the hit-and-run case where he was seen killing Terry Carter, however the incident has spurred a new lawsuit involving two of Knight's former associates. According to TMZ, Carter's wife and children have filed a wrongful death lawsuit claiming that his death was caused by gang members who sparked the fight leading up to Knight's fleeing the scene. Knight is unsurprisingly named in the suit, while Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are also named.

Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are named in the suit due to their alleged involvement in hiring "known gang members" to provide security for location shoots in gang-infested neighborhoods for the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton.

In addition to suing the three hip-hop veterans, the Carter family is also suing Tam's Burgers for not having adequate security on site to prevent crimes like this (since the parking lot is known for its criminal activity). The suit does not specify how much it is seeking in damages.

Suge Knight is the easy target in this case since he actually hit and killed Terry Carter with his vehicle. However, naming wealthy and powerful men like Dr. Dre and Ice Cube in the suit will make it very difficult to get charges to stick to these men who will hire the very best lawyers in Los Angeles. This could be a desperate Hail Mary by the Carter family to get a little more out of this case

Knight has tried various different tactics in his attempt to try and prove his innocence this time, varying from saying he is blind in his left eye, to his recent tactic of going for broke and attempting to have the case thrown out.
