Florence + the Machine recently dropped its third studio album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, and already its flown its way to the number one spot on the Official UK Albums Chart.
The tertiary LP reeled in a combined sale of just below 70,000 notes Reuters. Although the band is celebrating this achievement, they're no strangers to success having hit the top of the charts, having done so twice before with 2009's Lungs and 2011's Ceremonials.
At number two on the charts sits winners of Britain's Got Talent, Collabro, with its second LP titled Act Two. Jamie xx takes the third spot with In Colour, his solo debut album while Simply Red's Big Love fills the fourth slot. Taylor Swift hasn't allowed herself to be bumped off the charts just yet as 1989 takes the last position in the top 5. Number eight sees the talents of Slaves with debut album Are You Satisfied while Major Lazers' latest LP, Peace is the Mission makes a statement at 25, reports NME.
At New York's Governor's Ball, Florence Welch brought a fan on stage for a special task after seeing a hand-made sign that read "Hug?" The Florence + the Machine front woman made a proposition to the fan—if she could crowd surf her way to the stage, hugs would be given all around. Once the fan made it safely to the stage, Welch stated "There's no need for a question mark at the end of a hug" as the fan got to hug each member on stage.
The band recently announced a fall tour to span a total of nine cities and 11 shows.
