For the first time Busta Rhymes will be joining a festival in the UK, with Bestival taking place on the Isle of Wight in England, according to Telegraph UK. The Isle of Wight Festival will occur in the summer at Seaclose Park, and Bestival from September 4th to September 7th, 2014 in Robin Hill country park. The festival has grown steadily since its relatively recent start in 2004.
Before Busta's Extinction Level Event 2 album release, he plans to give the festivalgoers a sneak peek with new material.
DJ and producer Rob da Bank is the organizer of Bestival. He said: "I'm such a Busta fan and it's amazing not just to see him back in the charts with 'Thank You' but also to know he's getting on the ferry and bringing it to Bestival!"
The rapper's father recently passed away, and Busta tweeted to his fans on February 8th: "Thank u 2 my beautiful, strong and Powerful Family 4 coming out 4 my Dad's wake 2day. I am so blessed. I love u Dad. Rest in Paradise King!!"
Last year's festival had Snoop Dogg, Fat Boy Slim, Elton John and many other diverse, big acts: MIA, Bastille, Flaming Lips, Wu-Tang Clan, Belle and Sebastian and The Roots. The duo Disclosure, who played last year, will be joining this year once again before Outkast. Headliners are Beck on Thursday, Outkast Friday, Foals on Saturday and an unannounced headliner Sunday.
Other acts included Major Lazer, London Grammar, Sam Smith, Wild Beasts, Caribou, Chvrches, Laura Mvula and Clean Bandit.
Rob da Bank recently tweeted "sat in bed with sickness bug watching the Olympic curling and just confirmed @CampBestival Sunday headliner..phew.. feel much better! :)" We'll be sure to update you when the Sunday headliner is announced.
