On Friday (June 12), news broke that YG had been shot at a Los Angeles-area recording studio. New updates indicate that police are seeking a videotape that may have captured the Incident.
According to TMZ, multiple cameras at the studio may help authorities identify the perpetrator. Reports say that the Los Angeles Police Department has requested the video and should be able to obtain it and look over it for evidence within the next 48 hours.
As previously reported, the shooting happened at around 1:45 a.m. in Studio City. After being shot three times in the hip, YG was able to get into his car and someone from his group drove him to a nearby hospital.
Frequent collaborator DJ Mustard took to social media to update fans on his status. He shared a photo of the two on social media along with the caption, "The kid str8 but a little prayer ain't never hurt!!!!"
Sources have told TMZ that there were a number of people in the studio and a fight might have taken place prior to shots being fired. YG was reportedly "very uncooperative" with LAPD's investigation into the shooting.
YG is slated to perform at Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre on Aug. 2 as a part of J. Cole's Forest Hills Drive tour and Drake's OVO Fest. Big Sean, Jeremih, Bas, Cozz and Omen will also hit the stage.
The Compton rapper was recently featured on Jeezy's "The Realest" from his Gangsta Party mixtape. He also collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign on a track entitled "Only Right" featuring TeeCee and Joe Moses.
In December 2014, he released a short film entitled Blame It On The Streets and an accompanying soundtrack.
