As the final three deluxe album reissues of Presence, In Through the Out Door and Coda were kicked off in London today, Jimmy Page officially shut the historical and impressive doors to the Led Zeppelin vaults.
The last round of album reissues conclude the classic rock group's entire catalog, including previously unreleased material. Bonus favorites include "Suga Mama," a song originally recorded for the 1969 self titled album as well as "St. Tristan's Swords," an instrumental track crafted during the making of Led Zeppelin III, notes Rolling Stone.
"As far as the studio side of things [goes], this is it," Page said during a press conference in Barnes, West London in in the former Olympic Studios. "Unless something might pop up on international Record [Store] Day or something like that. But it will be a long way off."
The London event involved a Q&A session for the LP reissues as Page made his "jubilation" known after the project finally came to a close three years after delving through endless archives.
"There were hundreds of hours of listening to set all of this up," the guitar icon noted. "I'm really thrilled because what it means for Led Zeppelin fans is that there's now twice as much information as there was before, and it's of really good quality. So as far as I'm concerned, I've done my job."
Now that Page ended this chapter of his career, he plans to focus on active guitar playing as promotion for the reissues dwindles. "I won't take it easy," he said. "I'll be working on the guitar now, that's the next thing to be obsessive about. It's clear what I'm going to be doing next; I want to do something, which involves being seen to play the guitar. It goes without saying that I would like to be doing a guitar project - I mean, better doing that than a violin project!"
The 71-year-old legend admitted that he can't continue to reminisce the past and yearn for his old band, once consisting of Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham. "I haven't been missing it for the last three years because I've been involved from [2012 live album/DVD] Celebration Day all the way through [to this]," he added. "So no, it's OK, it's fine."
July 31 will mark the release date of the final three Led Zeppelin deluxe album reissues.
