Stream Vince Staples Debut Album 'Summertime '06' On NPR

Long Beach, California rapper Vince Staples is gearing up for one of the most ambitious hip-hop debuts in the past several years and we can now the fruits of his labor. Vince Staples's debut major label album Summertime '06 is now streaming in full on NPR through Def Jam.

The project is ambitious on two levels. The LP is a double album, with two discs of ten songs, something almost all artists would be afraid to do at this point of their careers. It has very few listed features from the likes of Jhené Aiko, Kilo Kish, Joey Fatts and others, as well as, some top-notch and forward-thinking production from beatsmiths like Clams Casino, No I.D and DJ Dahi. The album includes previously released songs like "Señorita" and "Get Paid." Staples has been saving the rest of the material for the actual release date and his live shows.

Staples had some words for those who listen to the album and think about supporting him, imploring them to keep an open mind.
