MTV personality Riff Raff arrives for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, September 6, 2012.
Mad Decent's own Riff Raff was due to release his debut full-length project, Neon Icon, on January 28, 2014. When the date got pushed back, the former From G's To Gents MTV reality star decided to try his hand at something different ... country music!
"Take U Away" was recorded under the name Jody Highroller and was produced by none other than Dame Grease. Diplo, who executive-produced Neon Icon, is even said to be on board with the big switch.
The Houston born Riff Raff responded to those who thought this was a joke or a publicity stunt by telling TMZ, "I love country music ... I'm good at it and it's a good fit." Rap fans never fear ... he'll stil be Riff Raff when he raps and he'll put on the Jody Highroller persona when he sings country. (Kind of like Garth Brooks turning into Chris Gaines to sing pop music.)
