It seems as though fans have been waiting a very long time for new music from Demi Lovato, and now that wait is finally over. To follow up her 2013 album DEMI, today (June 25) the "Really Don't Care" singer announced her new summertime single "Cool for the Summer" with some sexy cover art and a hot release date!
According to Lovato's Twitter, "Cool for the Summer" is due to drop on Wednesday, July 1. For Lovatics who need to start a countdown, that's just six days away!
The new single didn't just get announced with a release date; Lovato unveiled some saucy artwork, as well. The album artwork features the 22-year-old singer lounging in a beach chair, surrounded by perfectly tan sand and backed by a bright pink and orange sky. If the surroundings weren't hot enough, Lovato herself sizzles on the cover, rocking a baby green cutout one-piece and slicked back hair.
"Cool for the Summer" will be Lovato's first new single on her joint venture with Nick Jonas and Phil McIntyre, Safehouse Records. Along with help from Island Records and Hollywood Records, Lovato is embarking on her own imprint while still getting some backing from major players.
The single will be Lovato's first release since her 2013 album DEMI, which spawned the singles "Heart Attack," "Made in the USA," "Neon Lights" and "Really Don't Care."
