Taylor Swift announces five-date Southeast Asian tour, including dates in Indonesia, Philippines, and Singapore

The classic Western musical trope is that you know you've made it when you can play an arena tour in Japan. Taylor Swift has not exactly taken that to heart, or at least she's playing a slightly different Asian arena tour. The country star will play a series of five dates in Southeast Asia during June.

Swift will open the tour on June 4 at the Mata Elang International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, before heading to the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila (June 6), the Impact Arena in Bangkok (June 9), the Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur, and she'll close the short run out at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Swift's last Asian stops were during her "Speak Now" world tour when she played six dates in early 2011. There's little doubt that she'll be able to sell out her current dates. She ended her 2013 touring schedule with a series of shows in New Zealand and Australia, making her the first solo female performer to lead a stadium tour in the land down under. Swift led the seventh highest-grossing tour of 2013, selling out all 66 of her dates in North American and Oceania.

Swift just finished her six date European run on February 11, and she'll take a break from touring until June. Tickets for the Manila gig go on sale February 20, the Jakarta show on February 24, the Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur shows March 1, and the Singapore concert March 3. We recommend getting them early.
