'RHOA' Nene Leakes Quit Because Bravo Wouldn't Meet Her High Demands

Is anyone really shocked to learn that Nene Leakes is finally finished with The Real Housewives of Atlanta? The reality star announced that her time on the Bravo series has come to an end earlier this week and already she has a new game show gig lined up and a clear direction to go in. While some outlets at first were reporting that Leakes decided to walk over money and the network not wanting to pay her what she believes she is actually worth, that doesn't seem to be the main issue at all.

According to a report by MediaTakeOut, "Bravo would have came up on their offer significantly, if NeNe hadn't asked for all the rest of the stuff." More importantly, NeNe wanted creative control. The insider explained: "NeNe felt that the producers would edit the show to make her look silly, or to encourage other cast members to attack her. So she wanted to be an official executive producer—with a say in how the show would be edited. She basically wanted to be able to write her own storyline, and edit it, and then have it air."

That seems a lot more like it. After this long with the reality show it seems likely that Leakes would want to play a bigger part in what goes on behind the scenes. Adding Claudia Jordan last season brought a world of conflict to Leakes because no one has ever challenged her quite like Jordan did. Fans of the show already know that being called on her nonsense sat very badly with Leakes and she likely wanted to try and prevent that from ever happening as cameras rolled again.

Do you think that the real reason why Leakes decided to move on was because she wasn't promoted to a position that allowed her to call some of the shots? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below
