Looks like fatherhood may be more than Chris Brown bargained for, as the 25-year-old R&B crooner is the father to one-year-old daughter Royalty and is already having baby-mama woes with his child's mother, Nia Guzman. While Brown seems to be enjoying his newfound role in the fatherhood club, he and Houston-native Guzman can't quite seem to find some common ground when it comes to establishing a proper child support payout for their tot. Reports now suggest Brown is taking matters into his own hands and has now filed paternity documents for their daughter. While he is currently paying $2,500 a month for the toddler, Guzman argues it is not enough and feels entitled to more for the sake of their child. How much more you ask? Nia is looking to receive somewhere in the ballpark of $15K per month, which she believes is more accurately-matched to his income.
Well it looks like Brown has had enough of the back and forth, and now turning to the courts to help settle the family matter. According to TMZ, Brown filed paternity documents in Houston that will give him parental rights and the ability to fight Guzman on matters such as child support as well as custody if he chooses to do so. Turning to the courts may be the best option for the duo so that they are able to find middle ground and co-parent effectively while the court system formerly mandates the financials and visitation rights for both parents. This comes after Breezy was unable to participate in his daughter's first birthday, which was held back in June in her birthplace of Texas. Brown had his own separate festivities planned for his precious baby girl, which included a house party at his L.A. pad, along with a fun-filled trip to Disneyland. While Breezy hasn't had much luck in holding onto the women he's dated in the past, it sure looks like he's looking to invest and place that energy into helping raise his beautiful daughter and give her the future she deserves. Although Breezy has had a troubled past few years, his daughter just may be the key to grounding the R&B stud. Do you think Chris should be forced to shell out more than $2,500 per month for he and Guzman's toddler child?
