There seems to be some new beef boiling up between two of R&Bs most sensual crooners: Miguel and Frank Ocean. Following the release of his new album Wildheart, Miguel opened up about his relationship with the "Thinking About You" singer, saying that he "genuinely believes" that his music is better.
Speaking to The Sunday Times (via NME), Miguel said that his relationship with Ocean was cordial at best, revealing a feud that was
"I wouldn't say we were friends," Miguel said about his contemporary. "To be completely honest - and no disrespect to anyone - I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around."
Miguel also seemed to throw a little shade about Ocean's lack of new music and potential longevity, adding, "It's interesting, but we'll see who's in it for the long haul. It's like a marathon, you know?"
Miguel continues to break out in the world of R&B, with the release of his new album Wildheart gathering positive reviews from critics. And though he won multiple Grammys for his 2012 album Channel Orange, Ocean has largely remained out of the spotlight in recent years.
However, he did seem to announce a new album or project, Boys Don't Cry, due for release this month. "I got two versions. I got twooo versions..." Ocean wrote in a post on his Tumblr in April. It was later confirmed that a magazine entitled Boys Don't Cry will arrive from Ocean this month. An album is also expected in the coming weeks.
As for the feud between Miguel and Ocean, things seem to be brewing on Twitter, with "Frank Ocean" trending on the site and fans chiming in on the merits of each singer.
