David Crosby has announced that he'll be postponing his current solo tour dates in order to undergo heart surgery. If the decision seems rather sudden, it's probably because it is. A routine checkup on Friday raised some flags and the former Crosby, Stills and Nash performer opted to go for the surgery.
"I am very glad that I listened to my doctors and my family," Crosby said with regard to the procedure. "It seems I am once again a very lucky man. I'm sorry to have to move the dates, but I promise the music will be good when we do play them."
Crosby has a long history of medical problems. He received a liver transplant in 1994-no doubt the result of his past struggles with drug and alcohol addiction-and he also suffers from diabetes and hepatitis C.
"The left anterior coronary artery was found to be 90% blocked, and two stents were placed to provide blood flow to his heart muscle," reads the statement on Crosby's website, regarding the surgery. "David is expected to have a full recovery."
Those health issues account for many of the reasons why the performer has been absent from the studio for a while. Croz, the album he dropped in January and was touring in support of, was his first album since 1993.
Crosby plans to make up all remaining dates on the tour. The new schedule, include already rescheduled dates, can be found below. The performer's five-show stint at The Troubadour in Los Angeles has not been officially rescheduled, but all dates will take place in April.
