Fans who flock to Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour now sort of expect to see some superstar guests - the "Bad Blood" singer has brought out everyone from Nick Jonas to The Weeknd - but last night (July 13) at the Washington, D.C., show, one of Swift's many BFFs, Lorde made her duet debut with her own smash hit "Royals."
Lorde flew into D.C. from New Zealand (apparently a 19 hour flight!) to surprise the sold-out crowd at D.C.'s National Park. As Swift mean-mugged on stage, Lorde emerged from a rising platform as "Royals" started to resonate through the arena and the two performed the single together.

After the concert, Lorde gushed about her appearance on Twitter and Instagram, while Swift got in on the loving action, too.

Though Lorde and Swift have finally performed together, don't expect to hear many more duets from these pop star buddies. In an interview earlier this year, Lorde revealed that her and Swift have such different sounds that a song together wouldn't necessarily work out.
""She's amazing and she's very talented, but I feel like the way she writes is very much her voice," Lorde said. "It's the same with me. We're very kind of singular."
