First, Kelis brought all the boys to the yard with her "Milkshake," and soon you can too. On Tuesday (July 14), the singer and chef announced that she will officially be releasing her first cookbook, fittingly titled My Life on a Plate, later this year.
My Life on a Plate will be released on Sept. 28 via Kyle Books, Pitchfork reports. And as Kelis revealed, the book won't just include recipes for Swedish meatballs and chicken - it's all about her "lifestyle."
"My Life On A Plate is my first cookbook, and like the title says, it really is a reflection of my life through food," she said in a statement. "It includes my version of recipes I grew up eating and things I've picked up that have inspired me along the way. It's an exploration of tastes and cultures, and my experience as a chef, musician, mother and wife. It's a lifestyle, and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you."
The fact that Kelis has finally ventured into the world of cookbook publishing should come as no surprise to those who follow the R&B singer. In February, Kelis debuted on The Cooking Channel with her own show Saucy and Sweet.
Kelis also dedicated a full album to the world of culinary arts with her 2014 LP Food, which featured songs with titles such as "Jerk Ribs," "Cobbler," "Friday Fish Fry," "Biscuits N Gravy" and more.
We're already hungry!
