Diplo took to Instagram over the weekend to tease a possible collaboration between him, Skrillex and Big Sean as a new single from Jack Ü. The picture does not reveal much more than the fact that the trio of artists are working on something, but it should be big, if past collaborations of that caliber from both acts are any indication.
Skrillex and Diplo have been on tour together as Jack Ü over the past two weeks on the Recess producer's Full Flex Tour across Canada with Zeds Dead, A$AP Ferg, Tycho and others. Big Sean has been touring extensively over the past few months in North America and Europe, hitting festivals on both sides of the pond and is now in the first leg of his arena/amphitheater joint-tour with J. Cole.
The collaboration between Big Sean and Jack Ü may not seem obvious, but given both artist's histories, it makes sense. Big Sean has not dabbled much in the electronic music realm, but he was featured on Calvin Harris' last album Motion for a vocal of "C.U.B.A." titled "Open Wide."
Skrillex and Diplo have a long list of collaborations outside of electronic music notably hip-hop that includes names like Wale, A$AP Rocky, Vic Mensa, Snoop Dogg and many more. Diplo has also produced a host of records that Big Sean has been featured on including Justin Bieber's Journals track "Memphis."
As Jack Ü, Skrillex and Diplo worked with 2 Chainz to create "Febreze" on their recent album Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü.
Stay tuned for any further details about this collaboration and remember Diplo loves to share, so there may be some more information soon.
