Today, Eric turns 45!
The man that Playgirl called one of Country music's "Top 5 Sexiest Singers" describes himself as a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and inventor.
Heatherly was 31 when his debut album, Swimming in Champagne, hit the stores. It was a smashing success and went on to become Billboard’s #44 Top Album of the year while producing three Top 40 singles. One of those songs, "Flowers on the Wall," walked away with the honor of being named the #3 Top Country Single of 2000 and the #1 video by both Great American Country (GAC) and Country Music Television (CMT).
Going from sexy to stately, in September, 2012 Heatherly was asked to perform at the Smithsonian Institute for a tribute to Princess Grace of Monaco. The man who has worked with Miley Cyrus, Nelson, Shania Twain and The Civil Wars proved, yet again, that he can fit in with any crowd.
On the inventor's front, Eric stepped into those shoes when he and Michael Hood invented and patented the "Seat-Belt Guitar Strap" in 2001. The two men re-purposed vintage stainless steel seat belts from junkyard Cadillacs into retro guitar straps. The straps have been worn by arists like Brian Setzer, Kid-Rock, Lenny Kravitz, and countless other artists. The wearable pieces of Americana soon became best sellers at every Guitar Center in America and retail stores world-wide. Guitar Player Magazine voted it one of the top-50 coolest new music products and featured it on their cover being worn by Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats.
In celebration of Eric's birthday, let's check out some of his hottest tunes.
