Seinabo Sey has released the music video for her brand new single "Pretend" taken from her upcoming, still untitled debut album. The "Younger" singer shows the power of friendship and love in the new music video as it follows two friends frolicking around the streets of a city as they dance up and down escalators, across bridges and in front of music theaters.
The feel good nature of the video captures the essence of the catchy and uplifting track with its bouncy rhythms and its soft and measured synth stabs. Watch the enthralling and cheery video below.
The Swedish singer's voice has become quite popular in the EDM space as someone to remix for artists like Kygo, Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman and Gazlind.
Of Gambian and Swedish origin, Seinabo Sey has been someone industry insiders have tabbed as someone to watch over the past year and she continues to earn that standing with her recent singles. She is also putting the finishing touches on her debut album, which will be released this fall. The LP is being recorded with long-time collaborator Magnus Lidehäll and, according to a press release, is expected to reflect, "a creative life spent living in both Africa and Europe."
In 2014, Sey released her debut project For Madeleine, dedicated to her mother, which had some major backing from big-name Swedish songwriters like the aforementioned Lidehäll, Vincent Pontare, Salem Al Fakir and others. Since then she has become a hot up-and-coming singer and is looking to follow up that early success with her debut album later this fall.
