Seattle's Decibel Festival has announced its 2015 lineup. Among those included on the bill are the likes of Joseph Capriati, Bonobo with Dirtybird's Shiba San, Christian Martin and J.Phlip. Around 90 artists will perform over the five days in September this year.
Also included in 2015's lineup are forward-thinking DJs Djemba Djemba, Thievery Corporation, Mr Carmack, STWO, Cyril Hahn and AWE in addition to more traditional techno and house bookings like Marcel Dettman, Agoria, Alan Fitzpatrick, Recondite and others. However there is nothing traditional about this lineup that calls upon names big and small within the world of underground electronic music.
Entering its twelfth year, Decibel is not a festival that puts all of its artists in one central location for a massive event. Rather, it spreads the artists around the city of Seattle for small club showcases that fit the artists and genre of the festival. Decibel aims to create a unique experience with cutting edge technology at each show.
Events will take place starting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, and end on Sunday, Sept. 27, at venues like Q Nightclub, The Crocodile, The Showbox and Neumos as Decibel spreads its wealth of talent around the city. On Saturday and Sunday there will be two boat parties for those adventurous enough to head out on the water in late September.
In addition to the music, Decibel also includes a section not devoted to music. In addition to the the DJ sets, there is a strong emphasis on visual art, new music and performance that is brought to the nearly 25,000 attendees over five days, as well as seminars and workshops co-sponsored by CreativeLive.
Past performers have included deadmau5, James Bake, Zedd, Boys Noize, Justice, Claude VonStroke, Richie Hawtin, Flume, Dizon, Flying Lotus, Lorde and others.
Tickets are on sale now for individual shows and the full five days. Head to Decibel's website for more information. See the full lineup below and float off into space with Bonobo's Essential Mix.
