A pair of Bruce Springsteen-based releases in the coming months should have fans of The Boss excited. The Blu-Ray of last year's MusiCares Person of The Year Concert will be released on March (25), and a collection of four new tracks will become available on Record Store Day (April 19).
Three of the tracks on the new EP, American Beauty, are leftovers from the sessions that led to Springsteen's new album High Hopes earlier this year ("Mary Mary," "Hey Blue Eyes" and the title track). No word from the Springsteen camp as to what recording session the fourth track, "Hurry Up Sundown," came from. There's no indication whether American Beauty will be available on formats aside from vinyl.
If you can only buy one of these two collections however, we might recommend going for A MusiCares Tribute To Bruce Springsteen. The collection features a 2013 concert that features a slew of major artists-including Elton John, Neil Young and Sting-playing Springsteen covers at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The Boss and the E-Street Band eventually jump on stage to play five of their own tracks. A full tracklist for the MusiCares Tribute can be found below.
