Pharrell Williams and 'Happy' see Digital Downloads gain as Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' sees loss

This week was pretty boring on the Digital Downloads charts, as the top five songs remained exactly the same as last week. Among those top five there was a huge divergence in those who gained versus those who lost however. Let's start with the gainers.

Pharrell Williams stayed at no. 1 with his hit "Happy," and he gained big while doing so. Sales of the track rose by 22 percent, totaling 402,000 downloads. That's the most for any track in one week since Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball" in September 2013 (excluding post-Christmas sales). John Legend saw a similar increase in sales, as "All of Me" jumped 23 percent to 203,000 downloads.

The rest of the Top 5 dropped in sales while keeping their respective spots. Katy Perry "led" the charge, sticking at no. 2 with "Dark Horse," which sold 251,000 downloads (a 9 percent slip). Jason Derulo and "Talk Dirty" sold another 247,000 copies, settling at no. 3 (a 7 percent slip). Bastille and "Pompeii" kept the no. 5 spot, moving 142,000 downloads (a 3 percent drop).

Aloe Blacc moved up to no. 6 with a slight increase in sales, as "The Man" moved 133,000 downloads. Idina Menzel saw a slight drop for her Frozen track "Let It Go," but the 125,000 downloads for the song was enough to move it back up to no. 7.

A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera may be on their way out, as "Say Something" dropped to no. 8 after a 18 percent drop in downloads (119,000 sold last week). Of course, Pitbull and Ke$ha seemed to be on the way out when they placed tenth last week with "Timber," but that track bounced back to no. 9 this week with 112,000 downloads sold. Lorde comes back into the Top 10 this week with "Team," which sold 111,000 downloads last week.

Hopefully we'll see some shakeup or some new shakes next week. But hey, we're the buyers.
