Azealia Banks has announced that the previously announced that she and K. Michelle would be heading out on a 20-date concert tour later this year, but now the emcee reports that the alt-R&B vocalist has pulled out, resulting in cancellation. The rapper has reported that she's working with her team to try and make up as many of the dates as possible (a smaller lineup means less crowd, theoretically, and therefore a smaller venue) but we'll have to see. The announcement was especially disappointing for her hardcore fans, as this was going to be Banks' first legitimate U.S. tour.
"Hey k*nts! I just got an email from @kmichelle team and she unfortunately unavailable this fall so she is canceling out tour," Banks tweeted. "Unfortunate news as this was my first U.S. tour. But my team will work on an alternative plan to try and keep some of the dates in order!"
It's tough to tell what Banks' attitude on Michelle's move is. Although she did opt to spell the word c*nt with a "k," the rest of her mood seems rather bubbly, considering that Banks is perhaps the world's most aggressive tweeter. No word on what is the cause behind Michelle's unavailability.
The good news is that the emcee is still looking to bring together an American tour for her fans. It may need to wait until later in the year however, as venues are going to become increasingly more difficult to find as we approach the Fall.
No word on getting refunds yet, but if you've got tickets to any of these dates, you may want to keep an eye out for updates on the situation.
