This month, surprise performances have become the latest fad--from U2 calling on the talent of Bruce Springsteen to Paul McCartney joining forces with Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard. The latest surprise performance brought on a familial collaboration during Weezer's Osheaga Music Festival set. Two special guests made their way to the stage on Saturday, one being front man Rivers Cuomo's eight-year-old daughter, Mia, and the other being Cuomo's three-year-old son, Leo, Consequence of Sound reports. During the band's execution of "Perfect Situation," Mia jammed on the keyboard while Leo mastered an air guitar solo during "Back to the Shack."
Following a nasty monsoon, the band launched into their performance with riff after riff as a large winged W was placed behind them. Cuomo stormed the stage in a puffy vest while Brian Bell sported his long locks as the group shredded through fan favorites including “Beverly Hills,” “Pork and Beans,” “Buddy Holly,” “Say It Ain’t So” and “Adorable,” the Montreal Gazette notes.
As of late, Weezer collaborated with Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino for "Go Away," paired with a video that spoofs the dating app Tinder. "Go Away" trailed the release of "Back to the Shack," "Cleopatra" and "Da Vinci" while the latest album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End saw its release last fall.
