The feud between Meek Mill and Drake that has been the main storyline in hip-hop over the past week appears to be dying down some, but that has not stopped others from weighing in on the issue. A$AP Rocky was asked about who he though had gained the upper hand in the beef by MTV at Lollapalooza and decided that indeed there was a champion between the two. The "L$D" rapper notes that "Meek will be fine," but "there had to be a loser in the outcome, and it was Meek."
Just like the rest of hip-hop fans, the whole thing was fun to watch from the sidelines as the situation unraveled with the various diss tracks and comments going back and forth as "trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers" with the internet having a field day creating nearly endless memes.
Watching this was like watching the Super Bowl. I wanna say thank you to Drake and Meek Mill, because that's good sportsmanship," he said. "For real, that sh-t was fun. I needed that."
The issue of ghostwriting is very important to the 26-year-old rapper who prides himself on authenticity.
"I come from an old school aesthetic - me being 26 - coming from the point of, when I was coming up, it was all about writing your rhymes, and I'm quite sure for R&B songs, if someone's giving you [lyrics], that's nothing. I don't know. I would have to see. I don't know what to believe."
Regardless of where or not Drake writes his own raps, which has been a hot topic for discussion over the past week, Rocky says he is still a fan of the Toronto rapper.
