Jill Scott's New Album 'Woman' Debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart

Jill Scott recently earned her second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 following the chart-topping debut of Woman.

The Philly songstress moved 62,000 equivalent album units with 58,000 in pure sales. Scott received her first No. 1 with her 2011 album, The Light of the Sun, which opened with 133,000 copies. The album featured standout tracks "Quick" and "Shame."

Billboard notes that Woman made Scott the first solo woman to have a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 in nearly five months, following Kelly Clarkson's Piece by Piece album in March.

Scott first announced the release of the album back in June, on the heels of her soulful single "Fool's Gold." The song earned Scott her 13th top 10 on Adult R&B single.

The "A Long Walk" songbird is also gearing up to release her new greatest hits album Golden Moments. She recently released a ballad entitled "I Adore You" from her vault of previously unreleased music.

Golden Moments will cover her decade with the Hidden Beach music label (2000-2009) and celebrate the 15-year anniversary of her debut album, Who is Jill Scott. The sixteen track compilation will also feature digitally remastered fan favorites, including "Gettin' in the Way" and "Jilltro."

Fans hoping to see Scott perform live renditions of her hits can catch her during her ongoing tour, which kicked off in July.
