Amid many rumors floating around the web this week suggesting that a newly divorced Robin Thicke was engaged and had popped the question to his 20-year-old girlfriend of eight months, April Love Geary, the "Blurred Lines" crooner insists that couldn't be further from the truth. However, he did propose that fans direct the misplaced attention to his new single with Nicki Minaj, "Back Together".
Looks like the R&B singer has teamed up with the "PinkPrint" tour headliner once again, six years after their collaboration, "Shakin' It for Daddy" off Thicke's 2009 project, Sex Therapy.
On the new track, the divorcee talks getting back with an old flame on the Max Martin-produced track, while Minaj spits bars about bedroom domination. The femcee raps, "Used to call me Hillary 'cause I Rodham," and then pays tribute to her man, Meek Mill, by reciting a few lines from his track, "Levels".
The new single will be featured on Thicke's eighth studio album, which is slated for release later this year following up last summer's project, Paula.
The new track comes on the heels of being denied a retrial for his "Blurred Lines" single, after the court ruled that Thicke and company used an illegal sample of soul singer Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give it Up," and wiill now be forced to pony up the cash from the lawsuit. Sources reports that the lump sump that Thicke, Pharrell Williams, and T.I. will be forced to pay to Gaye's estate will be a whopping $7.2 million dollars.
Not to worry. We're sure that with hit tunes such as this coming from the man with the gilded voice, hell be able to pay off this debt in no time.
In the mean time listen to the catchy summer tune below. Do Thicke and Minaj have another hit on their hands?
