Swedish DJ and producer, John Dahlbäck, has unveiled the music video for his new single, "Raven." The video follows a group of individuals varied in race, ethnicity, gender and age as they are infected by the "raven," which according to the opening credits, is a bird that "was obsessed with a decade long passed when partiers dressed like gnomes, and depression was the social norm, and to go dancing was named the same as the bird whose obsession with the nineties simple never waned." They all end up in ridiculous, colorful rave attire, then they take some unknown drug and head out into the world dancing and causing a scene in areas like Runyon Canyon, in bars and on people's private property. Watch the video below and then head over to Beatport or iTunes to purchase your copy of the song.
The tune is a bit different from Dahlbäck's latest output, with a greater emphasis on a jogging bass line and a booming horn. The break comes in with a simple, yet evocative piano melody to offset the power found in his kicks.
As one might expect, Dahlbäck has had a busy summer and that will continue with gigs that will take him the rest of the way in the United States as well as a few in the booming EDM market of India.
