Patti Smith Plans For 'M Train' North American Book Tour

Rock legend Patti Smith announced details related to her book tour for M Train earlier this month. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2010's Just Kids, which was recently slotted for adaptation by Showtime, seamlessly meshes the world of rock and roll with the realm of the literary and avant garde. "It's a roadmap to my life," Smith stated in a press release her forthcoming publication. The memior, according to DIY, "journeys through 18 "stations," representing various turning points in Smith's life." Set to release on October 6th, M Train's publication will coincide with the 40th anniversary of Smith's quintessential album, Horses. In addition to prose, her latest book will also feature a number of Polaroid pictures from the icon's private collection. The two month tour befittingly begins in New York City.

In celebration of the monumental LP, HarperCollins will re-release an expanded and updated edition of the singer-songwriter's Collected Lyrics, which will feature 35 new tracks alongside previously unseen artwork and an introduction by none other than the Godmother of Punk herself. The over 300-page book will hit shelves October 27th via Ecco Imprint.
