Demi Lovato: Cool for the Summer
Backed by an all-female band, Lovato continued her journey of being sexier and more daring in 2015 by showing up in high-waisted black leather short shorts and a matching criss-crossed brassiere with an '80s inspired crop jacket. The 23-year-old kicked off the performance in front of the mirror on the ground as tackled the sizzling summer. As the guitars kicked in to gear, Lovato got up and worked the stage, finally coming in to her own as the volume increased to 11.
Known best for tackling power ballads, Lovato frankly struggled with the song's hushed, high pitched chorus in this live setting, though she recovered in the blasted chorus, which she tackled like the seasoned pro she is.
All the while, Lovato paraded around the stage, giving her best attempts at being as sexy as possible, and she pulled that off better than her verses, at least.
"Cool for the Summer" is the lead single from Lovato's planned new album, which is reportedly due before the end of the year. The new LP will be Lovato's fifth overall and the immediate follow-up to her 2013 effort DEMI, which spawned singles such as "Neon Lights" and "Really Don't Care."
