Nick Jonas' New Single 'Levels' Gets Release Date, VMAs Debut

It still seems as though Nick Jonas' hit single "Jealous" is everywhere these days, but the former Jonas Brother is coming back with another new track later this month. Ahead of the 2015 MTV VMAs, today (Aug. 13), Jonas announced that he will be dropping a new single "Levels" in just eight days and that he will follow-up the track with a performance on the MTV red carpet.

Jonas made the new single announcement the only way he knows how - through a wacky Instagram video. Waking up at 5 a.m. and wearing a tight white tank top, Jonas made a "ginormous" announcement. He's releasing his new single "Levels" on Friday, Aug. 21, and just a few days later, he'll be giving the track its live debut at the VMAs pre-show.

Entertainment Weekly reports that "Levels" will appear on Jonas' upcoming sophomore album, and while details surrounding the project are scarce, he told the magazine that the new effort will arrive before the end of 2015 of early next year, and he's not quite sure what form it will take.

"I feel like the next step is just going to be getting a collection of a few more songs and maybe repackaging the album. I still feel like there's some life left on the record I released last year," he said.

Jonas' self-titled debut was released in November 2014. It spawned the hit singles "Jealous" and "Chains."
