Chillwave all-star Neon Indian (Alan Palomo) recently shared news of his forthcoming studio album, VEGA INTL. Night School, set to drop October 16th on Mom and Pop/Trangressive. The long anticipated follow up to 2011's Era Extraña, Neon Indian's third full length will undoubtedly showcase Palomo's penchant for washed out lo-fi, buzzing chords and hypnotic synth.
In addition to revealing details about his new LP, Palomo also shared the funk influenced track "Slumlord," which is currently available via Soundcloud. "Most of what I've learned about human nature in my twenties has happened after dark," Palomo voiced in a recent statement currently featured on Pitchfork. "People are just kind of more honest then. More deliberate. I like to call the places I go to Night Schools." A relatable source of inspiration, the subject matter of VEGA INTL. Night School will also be accompanied by a 1-800 hotline. Fans who dial +1-512-643-VEGA will be able to access additional information about the LP, a special greeting, and a voice mail that includes excerpts of "Slumlord."
From hotlines to fictive schools, it seems as if Neon Indian's latest has created a world of its own.
