A nice initiative from the folks at Rhinegold Publishing, the house behind specialist music titles such as Classical Music, International Arts Manager and International Pianist. They have announced the creation of a series of free concerts, six a year, at London's Conway Hall.
The format is, we're told, informal, with no stage so that the artists are close to the audience. And each performance will be accompanied by a Q&A, the prevailing raison d'être of the series being to do with access and a relaxed setting.
First up will be husband-and-wife cellists Julian and Jiaxin Lloyd Webber. Alongside the pianist Pam Chowhan, they will debut a new concert program (Vivaldi, Part, Dvorak, Bach, Rachmaninov and others) on April 3 at 6:30 p.m. Classical Music magazine consultant editor Keith Clarke will host the Q&A following the music.
