The xx "Working Hard" On Third Album: 'Coexist' Followup Coming

The xx have some great news for their fans. The group shared an update on Facebook regarding their upcoming, still untitled album, saying the group is "working hard" on it. They posted a black picture with colorful, glittery cursive font saying, "We are working hard on our 3rd album! Can't wait to share it with you." With this update, it appears as though the follow up to the group's 2012 album Coexist is on its way.

This comes even though the producer arm of their band Jamie xx is busy touring his own debut solo album In Colour around the world. He featured his two bandmates Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Craft on the album, so there are hints at what a new The xx record may sound like, but we are still waiting on the trio to finish up the third album.

They have been working on this album for some time now. In May 2014 Jamie xx, real name Jamie Smith, shared the news that the group was indeed working on a new album with the same type of mindset as what they did with Coexist.

"Coexist was difficult to make at times, but our first album was just as difficult too. All albums are difficult to make, and I'm sure the next one will be as well," he said. "We learned so much from making Coexist. The first album was basically just us putting together everything we'd released at that point, and we had more control in how we wanted an album to sound overall on Coexist. That's something we'll try again, however the new one ends up sounding."

He confirmed that the album was indeed on the way again with The Fader in October.
