Lana Del Rey Releases "Terrence Loves You" Plus Two 'Honeymoon' Album Covers

Today, Lana Del Rey's upcoming album, Honeymoon, was made available for pre-order and it's already No. 1 on the iTunes top albums chart. The massive anticipation surrounding Del Rey's fourth studio album grows as each new detail is unveiled. Yesterday, she released the tracklist and today, Del Ray has shared the album's second single, "Terrence Loves You," as well as two different Honeymoon album covers.

Del Rey has said "Terrence Loves You" is her favorite song on the album. Following “High by the Beach,” the new single is more of an all-consuming ballad as Del Rey's vocals are immediately front and center backed by only a piano and sporadic trails of saxophone. She sounds like a brilliant songstress of a bygone era, though the intimacy of her vocals frees the listener of references to a specific time period. The song contain a reference to David Bowie's "Space Oddity" with the lyrics "Ground control to Major Tom."

“But I lost myself when I lost you / But I still got jazz when I’ve got those blues / I lost myself when and I lost you too / And I still get trashed, baby, when I hear your tunes,” she painfully ruminates on the chorus.

In addition to the new single, Del Rey shared the album artwork on her Instagram. The iconically American cover shows and Del Rey in a roofless truck with "StarLine tours" written on its side along with a partly obscured phone number. The number "1-800-268-7886" was apparently active for a brief time period last night. Some fans who were able to get through have shared a recording, on which you can hear Del Rey speaking over soft music and welcoming callers to the “Honeymoon Hotline.” After she speaks, she plays a recording of a lecture on the “Origins of the Universe” from theoretical physicist and cosmologist, Lawrence Krauss.

She also shared the album's back cover, which shows all 14 track titles atop a blurry photograph of palm trees. The final song is a cover of Nina Simone’s “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.”
