The Weeknd Drops 'Tell Your Friends' Music Video Ahead of New Album Release

The Weeknd's new album Beauty Behind the Madness is just four days away from its release date, but the R&B crooner is treating fans to a new music video. Today (Aug. 24), he dropped the visuals for his latest single "Tell Your Friends," a song produced by none other than Kanye West.

The song was produced by West and has his fingerprint all over it. Featuring start and stop instrumentation, "Tell Your Friends" also features a vintage-cool sound, which plays well off The Weeknd's smooth vocals. For the song's last minute, it takes a massive, orchestral left turn.

Lyrically, the song finds The Weeknd taking on his variety of vices, which range from everything from all-night sex to weed, alcohol and hard drugs. The song is fully self-aware. "I'm the n*gga with the hair singing 'bout popping pills, f*cking bitches with the lights out / Last year I did all the politicking / This year, Imma focus on the vision," he sings in the second verse. "Don't believe the rumors b*tches, I'm still a user."

The music video features The Weeknd in a murderous entanglement and features the singer strangled in a plastic bag, running in the desert and eventually taking on his foes with gunfire.

"Tell Your Friends" is the latest single to be released from The Weeknd's new album Beauty Behind the Madness, which is due to be released on Friday, Aug. 28. The album has previously been supported by the chart-topping single "Can't Feel My Face" as well as "The Hills."
