Paul McCartney Tour: Beatles Veteran Announces 5 New Live Dates

The Beatles' Paul McCartney is slated to perform a newly announced run of five North American gigs in October, launching the rest of the Out There Tour in Ohio while continuing on to make his first ever appearance at State College in Pennsylvania. This year's Lollapalooza headliner will also perform in Toronto for the first time in five years.

Tickets for the U.S. shows, kicking off in Buffalo, go on sale Aug. 31 while Toronto tickets will become available on Aug. 28. The latest round of concerts make a total of 22 McCartney stops in 2015, including appearances in South Korea, Japan, the U.K. and Europe.

Each setlist is crafted to span high points in McCartney's career from the Beatles to Wings, solo material and his most recent venture, his 2013 album New. An opening act has yet to be confirmed but the veteran entertainer is known for his performances that last over three hours and span 40 songs.

The impending Detroit gig was teased Monday through Joe Louis and Live Nation's social media platforms with "Maybe I'm Amazed" lyrics and a picture of McCartney's guitar, The Detroit News reports. The announcement also featured a Detroit Red Wings sticker along with the words "major announcement tomorrow!"

The 73-year-old musician opened 2015 with a Grammy Awards appearance where he took the stage with Kanye West and Rihanna for their joint hit single "FourFiveSeconds." McCartney's next endeavor brings the reissues of his early '80s solo albums Tug of War and Pipes of Peace. The singer's touring band features keyboardist Paul "Wix" Wickens, guitarist Rusty Anderson, drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. and bassist/guitarist Brian Ray, who have been together longer than both the Beatles and Wings, UltimateClassicRock notes.
