This could possibly be one of the greatest collaborations to happen since peanut butter and jelly. The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence and Trainwreck star Amy Schumer are working on a special project that will involve both of them on screen together.
According to The New York Times, Lawrence revealed on Wednesday (Aug. 26) she's been writing a comedic screenplay with Schumer and the script is really close to being finished. The women plan on costarring in the film as sisters.
"We play sisters," said Lawrence. "We're almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We've got about 100 pages right now. Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It's been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I'm flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We'll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck."
Their chemistry might flow like they've known each other their whole lives, but the 25-year-old Osar winner has only known the outspoken comedian for a couple of months.
After viewing her hilarious new film Trainwreck, Lawrence immediately reached out to the 34-year-old via email to profess her love and admiration for her. While the pairing might seem surprising to some, their personalities are somewhat similar and seem to get along very well. Schumer even invited Lawrence to go jet-skiing with her in early August.
"We really hit it off, to say the least," said Lawrence.
During the interview, Lawrence texted Schumer to make sure she was okay with her spilling the beans about their new movie project. Schumer quickly sent a response back to her that caused Lawrence to burst out laughing. "I wrote, 'I just spilled the beans to The New York Times. Is that OK?'" said Lawrence. "And Amy wrote back, 'That you're gay? Totally! It's exciting!'"
Jennifer Lawrence is gearing up to release the final installment of the box office smash series, The Hunger Games: Mokingjay Part 2 on Nov. 20, while Amy Schumer hits the road with fellow comedian Aziz Ansari for the Oddball Comedy Festival.
