Some people go off and buy a new sports car for their 50th birthday and ensuing mid-life crisis, but instead of the usual purchases, rock fan Griffin (full name unknown) decided to get front row tickets to the Foo Fighters and chug a beer with Dave Grohl.
It wasn't hard for Grohl to spot Griffin in the crowd as he was holding a large sign above his head that read, "It's My 50th. Let's Have A Beer," according to Consequence of Sound. Given Grohls' recent antics it's no wonder he obliged.
"I know it's your 50th birthday," Grohl said at Monday's concert in Detroit. "We've got a lot of songs we've got to play tonight. I'm gonna share this beer with you, and then I've gotta do my job."
The Foo Fighters have been making headlines all summer starting back when Grohl fell of stage breaking his leg and insisting that he continue while someone held his leg in place as they both waited for a brace to arrive from the hospital.
Since that injury, he's been touring the country perched atop a guitar thrown center stage so he can play unencumbered by his leg. It's been quite the sight to see as Grohl continues to open up and prove he's the most likeable figure in all of rock 'n' roll.
Just this week Grohl has rickrolled the Westboro Baptist Church as the group tried to protest the concert for some unknown hateful reason, he brought an emotional fan on stage to sing "My Hero" and he's mocked bands for playing "little two-hour concerts."
Between the stage antics and the band's deep catalog of music it's no wonder they can't contain themselves to a two-hour limit and it doesn't seem like fans are complaining.
Watch Grohl chug a beer below as well as some of his other on-stage antics from the past few weeks.
