Adorning the cover of this week's Entertainment Weekly, American Horror Story: Hotel star, Lady Gaga, revealed that the hit FX series acted as a muse for the pop star's return to "the art of darkness." The Artpop singer has kept busy with projects including the spooky series but she is now ready to revisit the world of making music after being struck with eerie inspiration. "It will inform me from this day forward, everyday more and more," Gaga told EW of her latest TV appearance. It's almost certain that the "You and I" singer's latest batch of songs will have a dark twist to them, seeing as how she's taking on the role of a blood-sucking, murderous hotel owner for the show's fifth season.
The singer also reveals that AHS: Hotel and playing the Countess remain at the top of her list of priorities, keeping her musical talents far from her FX debut. "This is my focus right now," Gaga said. "I don't view this as a side thing that I'm doing in between other things. Cramming things in just to be everywhere all the time is really not what I like. It's not what makes me happy. So it was planned out for me to do one project at a time and give my full attention to each so I can enjoy myself. I can give myself fully to the cast. If I were to saunter in here and not show true value to the work that's already been done, that would be a massive mistake because these actors have been working for years."
To celebrate the show's latest season, the 29-year-old singer/songwriter invited Ryan Murphy and the rest of the AHS cast to her home for a blowout celebration, decorated with creepy décor such as a pool filled with blood-red water, NME notes.
"They're extremely talented. I walked in on my first day and I was like, 'I am going to give all of myself.'"
AHS: Hotel will premiere on October 7, boasting a star-studded cast of Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Wes Bently, Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield and Chloe Sevigny.
