Australian band The Paper Kites have released their sophomore artist album twelvefour through Nettwerk. In addition to the new LP, the Melbourne-based fivesome will be heading out on a North American tour in the fall, before returning home for a series of shows for their fans in Australia and New Zealand.
The album was written in a very unique manner. A lot of records are developed late at night, but twelvefour was written entirely between midnight and four in the morning with the idea that an artist's creative peak happens between those hours. It was written over two months by lead singer, guitarist Sam Bentley, during that time of night, who penned 30 songs in his home studio.
You can stream the full 10-track album now on Spotify. It draws on many different influences from indie, synth pop to more downtempo, acoustic folk, providing a very diverse sonic experience for the listener. Purchase it on Amazon or Apple Music.
The month-long North American tour kicks off on Nov. 12 in Los Angeles at The Troubadour, ending in New York City at Music Hall Of Williamsburg on Dec. 8.
