Even if you don't particularly care for the music of Katy Perry or the pop star's live show, don't worry, she's not going to call you bad names. Earlier this week, a photograph of the "Dark Horse" singer reportedly calling a hate a c*nt via a fan's cellphone spread across the Internet, but both the pop star herself and the creator of the meme have decried the picture as a total fake.
The image that has been making rounds across social media features a selfie that Perry took during a concert on her Prismatic World Tour. Using WhatsApp, a Katy Cat's ex-boyfriend reportedly said that the 30-year-old star cannot sing live at all, and Perry reportedly snapped back at the hater.
As the story picked up steam, getting coverage from The Mirror and Gigwise, Perry took to Twitter to deny ever having sent such a lewd message, saying that she would never use the c-word.
@katyperrylately I NEVER wrote those words, that is an EDITED picture or the person added it after I took it. I would NEVER use the C word. — KATY PERRY (@katyperry) September 1, 2015 Shortly after Perry sent out her initial tweet, the fan who originally made the image admitted that he doctored it, expecting for it to be a joke for fans to share. The boy, @iwasdivine, said he never wanted for Perry to get negative press from the situation. After he profusely apologized, Perry thanked him for coming up about the manipulated image. @iwasdivine thank you for your apology. — KATY PERRY (@katyperry) September 1, 2015 All's well that ends well, and as it turns out, nobody is a real c*nt after all.@katyperry if anything it was supposed to make people laugh, not spread like wildfire through media. I apologize for any confusions. — zach (@iwasdivine) September 1, 2015
