Kevin Durant probably deals with as much trash talk as anyone in professional sports. The NBA is ripe with players who are actually better at talking than playing basketball. Durant will probably earn his fourth scoring title this season, and defenders try to get in his head, versus actually playing solid defense to stop him. One opponent has upped the trash-talk ante: Lil B. The California rapper sent out a music video on Monday for his track "F--- Kevin Durant."
The seriousness of this sentiment is hard to gauge. Durant reportedly referred to Lil B as "wack" (a bad thing) during 2011, which caused the emcee to predict Oklahoma City would never win a championship (so far, so good). The rapper then challenged Durant to a game of one-on-one, which the world presumed was a joke, as Lil B is 5'6" and Durant is 6'10" with a 7'4" wingspan. The Twitter disses seemed lighthearted from there on out, until Lil B exploded with "AND F--- KEVIN DURANT LIL B FOR LIFE - Lil B" (note Lil B mentioned himself in the tweet and signed his name at the end of the tweet, presumably from his own Twitter account. Thorough advertising).
The track does seem to be in good humor however. Sure, the hook is Lil B singing the title awkwardly, but he's smiling good-naturedly throughout. Some other other noteworthy moments: "I like Roc Nation and I love Jay Z/But on the west side I'm screaming 'F--- KD'" (in reference to Durant being signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports). He also makes a more-than offensive reference to having sex with WNBA players, and reports being "up in the club like Dirk Nowitzki," the NBA's most noted partier (outside of Tim Duncan, of course).
You can check out the video for the track, which borrow DJ Khaled's "Brown Paper Bag" beat, below. If you haven't figured it out yet, the track is NSFW.
Hopefully the pair can find a way to make the game happen, for charity if nothing else.
