As promised, Rick Ross' new mixtape, Black Dollar, is here. He announced the imminent release of the project on Monday (Aug. 31), and in the last few days, he dropped five tracks off the mixtape and one music video. Now that Black Dollar has arrived, #RozayWeek is hardly over, as the new mixtape brings fans 12 new tracks (17 total) and includes a collab with Future on "Take Advantage." Additional guest spots come from Wale, Anthony Hamilton as well as another feature from Meek Mill.
With Monday's announcement that Black Dollar would be out within the week, Ross released a brand new J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced track, "Foreclosures." Little did fans know that Ross would release four more tracks and one music video off the project in the next two days. The MMG boss wasn't lying when he said #RozayWeek is upon us.
On Tuesday, Ross dropped "Money Dance," featuring R&B hall of famer The-Dream. Wednesday gave fans two new tracks: "Turn Ya Back," featuring Gucci Mane, MMG affiliate Whole Slab and Meek Mill as well as the solo track "Money and Powder," which came with an accompanying music video. The latest pre-release came last night with "She Wanna F*ck," featuring R&B rising star August Alsina.
"Turn Ya Back" is the first instance of new music from Meek Mill since his underwhelming Drake-aimed response track, "Wanna Know," earned him defeat in the most sensationalized hip-hop beef in years. Mill has another chance to redeem himself on Black Dollar, as he's featured on "World's Finest."
Wale is the only other MMG member to land a spot on the tape. Soul veteran Anthony Hamilton confirms Ross' penchant for R&B hooks on "Icon," and the remaining feature goes to one of the hottest rappers in the game: Future. Listen to the DS2 star employ his brand of trap singing on "Take Advantage."
Aside from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Ross has confirmed some of the tape's producers, including: Black Metaphor, D Rich ("Turn Ya Back"), Key Wane & Jake Uno ("Money Dance").
