Dutch trance DJ, producer Armin van Buuren has announced the name and release date for his sixth artist album. The upcoming LP is titled Embrace and will be released on Oct. 29 just in time for Halloween.
Van Buuren has not unveiled the tracklist or detailed any collaborations on the album, but we do know that the lead single will be his recent track with Mr. Probz "Another You."
Armin van Buuren described why he chose the name Embrace in a statement. "After 76, Shivers, Imagine, Mirage, and Intense, I went for another album title that consists of only one word: 'EMBRACE'! The idea was to 'EMBRACE' several different instruments and sounds, and incorporate them into my sound. I hope my fans will 'EMBRACE' this new chapter in my life. I loved working with Anton on the cover for the album. It is nothing short of an honor, and I'm really glad to see how well it turned out."
The artwork is a change of pace for Armin, who in the past has used his various poses on stage as the main image for album covers. This time he has teamed up with Anton Corbijn, who has photographed the likes of U2, Clint Eastwood, David Bowie and others, to help craft the idea for his cover.
"I photographed Armin with the idea to modify the public perception of him and of what he is creating. He is such a nice guy, so I worked on giving him a bit more edge visually and created, amongst other stuff, images that hold a mix of references to Sgt. Pepper and Mad Max. Playful stuff, basically. Apt for a versatile DJ who adores music and travels the world," explains Corbijn.
